Transforming what others consider waste into a valuable new product. All MYAR garments are the result of an upcycling process which, through creative recycling, breathes new life into fabric scraps and leftovers from, among other things, the various OTB Group companies. This transformation makes it possible to create unique garments and eliminate the negative impact of manufacturing on the environment, reducing the need to produce new fabrics and re-purposing existing fabrics and materials to promote the circular economy. Each unique, limited-edition garment comes with a QRcode which, when scanned, provides a wealth of information about the product, packaging and sustainable practices adopted by the company. In addition to using warehouse stock, a choice that reduces raw material and energy consumption, the brand only uses water-based prints and bio-based colour to dye its fabrics. On the salvaged jersey whale T-shirt, for example, the “Even whales prefer butterflies in their stomachs” print was made with dyes of organic origin that protect the well-being of people and the environment. Sustainability is the focus of the SS22 collection, a theme that has always been very important to the MYAR brand: each garment is a graphic manifesto which, through children’s clothing, educates parents to respect the planet, completely reversing the traditional role between adults and children. T-shirts, sweatshirts, trousers and tracksuits are decorated with images of stingrays, turtles and whales, sea creatures whose existence is constantly threatened by plastic and pollution of the seas and oceans. The trousers made of deadstock fleece fabric are customized with an all-over print of sea and land animals, reflecting the brand’s commitment to raising awareness of these issues. What does MYAR’s young army represent? The need to live more sustainably and always be kind and respectful to Mother Nature.
